The Heathcote Wine Region

Situated north of Melbourne in Central Victoria, Australia, the Heathcote wine region has gained international recognition for consistently producing refined, intense and elegant Shiraz. The region has a mix of small, well established and highly rated producers, as well as a rapidly expanding series of larger vineyards.

Of a cooler climate than the Clare, Barossa and McLaren Vale regions, the southern sector of the Heathcote region produces cool climate wines with exceptional fruit and distinctive intensity, as is the cellaring potential of wines from a handful of top producers, like Redesdale Estate.
