Shiraz

Renowned for being estate grown and hand picked from long established vines, this Shiraz is voluptuous, rich and dense, and a truly fine proponent of Heathcote shiraz. Flavours include black cherry, plums, blackberries, bitter chocolate and anise spice.

Redesdale Estate is producing some magnificent rich and bold Cabernet Sauvingnon Cabernet Franc. So much so, James Halliday has nominated us as the best producer in the Heathcote region over two of the most recently released vintages.

The Wine Maker
After some years of selling the estate grown grapes it was decided, in 1999, to produce wine for the Redesdale Estate label. Tobias Ansted makes the wines under contract.
Of his own work, Tobias sees his job as maintaining a true representation of the region and its produce, from the translation of what he gets in the vineyard to wine in the bottles. From the first vintage made by Tobias in 2001, Redesdale Estate wines have received consistent high acclaim from well-recognized wine experts such as Jancis Robinson and James Halliday, amongst others.
"This is not the first time this Heathcote producer has featured, so obviously Peter and Suzie Williams are doing something right…. as is Tobias Ansted from Balgownie Estate, who makes the wine," wrote Andrew Wood. In 2007, Golf Digest's feature wine writer, Grant Dodd wrote of Redesdale Estate, 'they are obviously growing great fruit and on this evidence, the talents of Tobias Ansted are undeniable.'
