Ben Edwards Tasted April 2014
This vintage is in full flight today, showing a fine balance between fresh black fruits and spice, and mature characters of leatherwood and earthy notes on the lifted bouquet; the palate is succulent and lively at the core with tangy red fruits a feature, and the long finish develops a savoury array of undergrowth flavours combined with refreshing gravelly tannins to conclude.

Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. The nose is classic Heathcote, with top note of black cherry followed by blackberry, vanilla and spice with violets overtones. The palate is filled with spice and black pepper followed by blackberry. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Very long aftertaste of blackberry and black pepper.
Strong purple-red; medium bodied, clean and fresh; black fruits and fine tannins. Continues to evolve slowly and convincingly. Screw cap.
