Deeply coloured with a dark and brooding bouquet of blackberry, liquorice, hints of leather and a lift of sage; the palate is full-bodied and full of black fruits, roasted meat and ample chewy tannins that are in balance with the fruit on offer, but will also continue to soften and gain complexity with further cellaring; certainly a wine destined to be enjoyed with slow braises on a cold winters day. Tasted April 2014

The nose shows some blueberry, bitter chocolate and a hint of pepper. The palate shows intense mid-palate fruit and tremendous linear acid structure with a super aftertaste characteristic of Heathcote. Tasted April 2014

Deep colour and deeply fragrant with dark plums, black fruit and an enticing thread of thyme; the palate is thickly textured and rich, freshening up with briary complexity on the finish, long and succulent to conclude. Tasted February 2011, Rating 94, drink to 2020.
